AND THE WINNER IS...

We have a winner! A list member with an encyclopedic vehicular knowledge has identified the mystery part as being from a different sort of MG. It is a foot pedal from a 1924! French! Motorbike! called a Monet & Goyot or, MG. How interesting that they used, for they're symbol, an octagon and with the same design for the letters 'MG'. Notice that the device actually PRE-dates the use by several years before it was adopted by Morris Garages. It makes one wonder doesn't it?
