Spokes
The rear wheels on my TC have a few loose spokes. I have not been able to
find anyone around town that is willing to take on the challenge of
tightening them. Is there any advice on this. Possibly a procedure to
follow? All my spoke tightening experience comes from being a kid and
making bananas out of bicycle tires.... Thanks in advance.

Contact Frank Kutas at "Spoke 'N True" in Markham, Ontario. The guy
actually manufactures nuclear imaging equipment but has a wire wheel
business on the side. I'm sure there must be a connection there someplace.
He's very reasonable and your US dollar goes a long way in Canada.

If there is a metallurgist in our group, the spoke are C-1038 grade
steel, for the wire wheels. Where does this compare with 8.8, 10.9, and
12.9 grade steel, does this have more strength than these grades.

Re: spokes
Hi Bill, Buchanan Spoke and Wheel in Azuza, California can make any type
of spoke you need. I recently bought 300 TC spokes and nipples from
them, made from original samples. They do not offer a nipple as short as
the original ones so I simply used the shortest they had and it doesn't
bother me too much. Cost was about $480 (plus tax and shipping if
applicable) as compared to Moss who charges over $1,300 for the same.
Plus, the last Moss spokes I got were was too thick.

Re: spokes
To Terry and all that helped:
I needed only two spokes; the one's from Moss, upon first look wouldn't fit, but after some thinking and a slight modification to the hub hole, fit OK. Not good enough for racing but substantial enough for a spare.
