To those more enlightened:
I noticed that University Motors is offering to modify TC Hubs to accept MG-A double roller bearings. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiance with this compared to traditional replacement of ball bearing with Timkin tapered roller bearings or their ilk?

Re: New file uploaded to mg-tabc
To Whom it May Concern:
I have tried the URL, listed below, and get a message back informing me that: " the requested file or directory is not found on the server " ?
So, combining the problems I have encountered in the past with: 1) posting photographs, 2) sending attachments, and now 3) above that makes another " unfunction "; " to get up my nose ". Concerning then, the " Life and Times " file I will, and with the greatest respect to all, give it a miss.
Furthermore, and in retrospect, my life's history could most likely be equated to that of watching paint dry.
Continuing.
Neither my TC nor my TD can claim having had;
1) UK number plate prestige ( both being sent directly to Canada ),
2) any mind gripping racing histories,
3) exciting careers as Police Cars, or
4) any notable, ex-owners.
They were and remain, still, quite mundane.
To Conclude.
I reckon, the general concept of the " Life and Times " file is a super way, for participating members, to find out about one another either M.G. or otherwise.
Respectfully submitted:

RE: [mg-tabc] New file uploaded to mg-tabc
Hello Jack and all the rest that cannot download the file:
Seems that this file has been saved without the correct .doc extension
in the filename.
Here is a possible workaround:
1. Go to the Files/Member's bio's section at
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/mg-tabc/files/Member%27s%20Bio%27s/
(you need to log on to go there)
2. Click on the link "John Patterson"
3. In the following dialog, select "Save"
4. Find a location on your harddisk and as a filename write jp.doc
5. Make sure the Save As Type says "All files"
6. When the download is finished, click Close
7. Open the file by doubleclicking on the jp.doc where you saved
it
It is a good idea to avoid using special characters like ' in filenames.
Some browsers even don't like filenames with spaces in them. BTW, I used
Internet Explorer.
Good luck!

Re: New file uploaded to mg-tabc
My hat goes off to Jerry Austin for compiling this list. It must have taken
a long time to get this all together. Not to cut down the accomplishment by
any means, I must note in the time it probably took to assemble the list,
TCs have switched hands, new owners have shown up or numbers get
transposed. I will pass on info to Jerry that I notice needs adjusting and
I hope others do the same.
Case in point with our newest TABC members Jim just announced:
Jim shows Bunker Hill's TC as TC 7851, however Bunker recently joined our TC
Motoring Guild and I just double checked the membership form Bunker filled
out and he listed it as TC 7581. Not sure who transposed but 7581 is a new
number for Jerry's list or 7851 is shown to be in Australia.
Bob Lines shows a different engine number and location.
I see names on the list of people who have died many years ago and the kids
have the car now and I note other TCs sold but past owners listed.
TC7812 shows both Bill Harkins as owner as well as Mark Stolzenburg. But
there are two different engine numbers. Bill got out of TCs some time back
so my guess is Mark now owns it or one of the two TC numbers is wrong.
So please go to the link below and send Jerry a note with updates.
I am sure he would appreciate any valid corrections.
Send to: jdaustinmg@dslextreme.com since Jerry is not on the TABC list and
would not get group emails.

Re: New file uploaded to mg-tabc
Jim,
There is a member of "The Twin Bay British Car Club" of Traverse City Michigan that is A TA owner and I believe he is the 2nd
owner of this car and I have seen it and it's very original as the original owner from
Harbor Springs Michigan was the original purchaser of the car and when he passed away a couple of years ago the car was sold to Mike
Jackson. His e-mail address is tmjackson@chartermi.net. When I first saw the car it had not even been polished in several years and
the upholstery was pretty well crackled as leather does over the years. It had a beautiful patina finish. Mike has really done a
nice job of shining it up and using some of the new leather finishes to make it look beautiful. It has not been repainted or
re-upholstered. A truly original TA in every detail except for white side wall Model A tires which I think look awful. Give him a
note.
John

Re: New file uploaded to mg-tabc
Folks,
I see already that some have posted notes stating that my car is not on the
list . Please remember that this list was published by the TC Motoring
Guild in 1962 or thereabouts and had a very limited audience. So don t be
surprised if your car is not on the list. My first TC is listed as EDWIN
HALL 1947 2271 2970 RED . I purchased the car about 1964 and subsequently
sold it to a fellow from Las Vegas NV about 1966 (old story, no money going
to college.) The car has subsequently dropped out of sight.
BTW if anyone know of this car please let me know. The T Register lists the
same information as above (e.g. Current owner Edwin Hall), so even their
attempts to track down T series cars has some faulty data.
