Hi Chris,  I have been away from my computer for a few days.  Is the motor still available?  I am in Julian.

Jeff, hi First, thanks for the advice. The wire broke when I was doing "field repairs" at the location where my battery died. The end that broke comes from  opposite the battery (the end that goes to where it comes from). So, I can't just pull the fuse and take it to a shop. At this point I am going to try and find a shade tree MC mechanic. This is an easy fix, I just didn't have the tools. I did see some "el cheapo" soldering sets for about $10 on line.... Thanks, EddieM <><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><> Eddie, How about disconnecting the white wire from the battery and also from the fuse. Then take it to work and get one of the guys that knows how to solder to solder the new end on the wire. Trying to use a cigarette lighter to heat the wire and new end will be difficult at best. To properly solder, the temperature of the metal must be raised enough to melt the solder and then the solder is added. Too hot is about as bad as not hot enough. The metal should melt the solder and not the heat source like a lighter. As an added note... the white wire is the wire that supplies all the electrics on the bike except the starter motor. If the repair fails you will not have any power to the bike just like the main fuse failing.
