What do you use for foot pegs? Do you leave the Stock ones on? Has anyone tried putting the KLR250 metal foot pegs? Thanks Kent [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I'm using the serrated metal footpegs from a DR650. I believe Doc Kroc has the P/N in the FAQ. They're not as wide as some aftermarket pegs, but they're cheaper. __Arden

I have the stock pegs on my 97 KLR 650. I want to change over to a serrated peg since I can't seem to keep my feet on them in the mud! Any way, I heard once that a Suzuki peg will bolt on without modifications. Does anyone have experience with this and know about what year/model I should be looking for? There are no motorcycle wrecking yards where I live so I will need to buy online or over the phone. Thanks! Rob

From the FAQ: DR650 steel pegs (1995 or equiv), which fit right on the KLR brackets. You need 1RH front footrest, 43550-44B10-019; 1 LH front footrest, 43560-44B10-019; and 2 springs, 09448-15008. The Kawi pins will work fine, although they are a little smaller in diameter than the DR pins. If you want to use the DR pins (p/n 09200-10008, 2 req'd), you will have to drill out the KLR peg brackets. I have them and they're a big improvement over the stock rubber coated units at a reasonable price. If you spend a lot of time standing you might want to consider something wider. __Arden

Looks like Arden saved me from looking up the part numbers. The DR footpegs are perfect for me on my KLR. I had a set of IMS and could not get my size 13 Tech 8 boots to work with any brand shifter. The IMS are wider and this shifted them forward about a half inch closer to the shifter. With good boots standing on the DR pegs is not an issue. Thanks to Pat, KDXKAWBOY for getting the numbers a few years ago. Larry --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "Arden Kysely" wrote:

So, the KLR FAQ page suggests "IMS Super Stock and Pro Series pegs" as a replacement for the stock rubber pegs. I ordered a set. They don't fit. Was I suppose to order the whole bracket? Am I suppose to modify something? The pegs are slightly too wide for my '93 brackets. Thanks for the help. Jeff

They took about five minutes to install on my '98.

What IMS part number did you get? Think your dealer might have sold you a set for a different bike? The IMS footpegs have always fit fine. Moose footpegs on the other hand has had some fitting problems. Fred http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com http://s1.zetaboards.com/arrowhead

klr front fender

Just to add clarity. Acerbis makes most of the aftermarket fender and some of the OEM fenders. KTM fenders are made by Acerbis. Acerbis makes mant fenders that function well. I am guessing the Acerbis fender you are talking about is the SuperMoto. It is small, good looking and functions well in dry weather. I have one hanging in my garage and it does exactly what you mentioned as well as what I described previously. Tim
