OK, please tell me this, do you tip the bike to the left or the right side? It seems that tipping to the left is the best way to get the last little bit of gas? Eddie

Most tip to the left because they are north of the equator. If you are in the southern hemisphere I heard you must tip it to the right. something to do with the aurora borealis effect or something like that. Don't know if it is true or not. Walt

Nope, it's the Coriolis effect at the equator- all the fuel stays at the top of the tank. No reserve needed.

I firmly believe that if you can find the actual equator line, and drive on it, going in the same direction as the earths rotation, you actualy have to stop and take gas out of your tank! Sadly, my 1986 KLR just went to the end of the driveway with a for sale sign on it. None of my riding pals have any dual sports anymore, we have all gone to street, off road dirt bikes, and sport quads. It is a tough group to keep up with, but I like having a variety of toys, I am secretly hoping that the thumper won't sell. Time to finish my 72 CL175 Honda, and a MR250 Honda in the shed. Bike week was a wash here in NH, but Wednesday was great weather for the hill climbs, too much fun. Had a good day on NH fresh paved twisties. Doesn't get much better. Wayne(rice)Burner

One of two options both resulting in the same conclusion. Either the shop put a tire, tubeless or not, on a tube type rim without a tube in the tire - or - the shop the shop knew the tube needed to be in there and put it in but didn't check for leaks. Either way the shop suks. This is there fault and you should have them credit your card back for the tire change labor. The reason for that is that this is one of the most basic of tasks on a bike and any shop that would make one of those two mistakes can not be trusted to work on a bike. That said you should replace the tube yourself for two reasons. First is that the shop was that foolish but the second is more important. Suppose you had been far away from the road. On a planned deep ride you can bring a tiny patch kit and get your self home from most tire problems. You have the opportunity to both prove that to yourself and to practice it in the relative comfort of your home. You get to find out what tools you would really need to do one of the more common repairs. Buy a new tube and read the manual on how to pull the wheel. There are about a hundred great web pages explaining how to do it and with luck some of the folks on the list will post some that pertain specifically to KLR type wheel removals and tube type repairs Skypilot [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
