nklr- baja 1000

Post by monte quint » Tue Oct 30, 2007 10:22 pm

I'm leaving on the 8th for a doctors check up in Tijuana and then will be attending the Baja 1000 Classics parade from Tijuana to Ensenada on Sat the 10th, parade is part of 40 year anniversary of the race. (May have a spot on a competition truck from the late 60's) Has Anyone on this list attended the race as a spectator or just a race buff attending ? Any activities around the race that you would recommend? Race starts Tues the 12th, day prior being the tech inspection of all entrants. I've been to races (and associated parties) on several continents so I am somewhat familiar with the difference of attending as a spectator and the whole "in-crowd" activities. Any advice. Last time I was shot at was the party after the "Lotus Invitional Championship" and "International Superbike Challenge" in Zuhai, China June 2006. Chinese Red Army military "protecting the track" Not looking to relive the experience. (my noobsville roots showing I suppose) A definite "in crowd" happening there. Any help, sights to see, drinks to drink, girls to call, etc would be appreciated. Wolfman tanks bags are great!! Monte chasing an excellent duck dinner and a bottle of Don Julio Plata with watching the newest of five cruise ship docks being built. (again this Winter with the pile driving. BAM! BAM!! BAM!!)

ignition coil on stator

Post by Jean-Christophe THURET » Wed Oct 31, 2007 3:49 am

When the coil is out it's realy simple to be sure, you only have to check with ohm-meter betwin red and wite wire on magneto connector. If you mesure some ohms, it's ok, if there is no connection betwin these two wire, it's cut somewhere inside the coil. In this case, your shop have no other choise than changing the whole stator (cheaper than repairing the coil themselves). So the bike will be 100% ok ;) ps: sorry for my bad English ps2: Do anybody have a working stator for sale? JC Date: Tue, 30 Oct 2007 21:01:54 -0700 From: wayne_blckbrn@... Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] ignition coil on stator To: jct_fr@... What I want know ,Is this another know issue with this bike. My bike is in the shop with the same problem,( So the shop say's ). They really don't know for sure until the part come's and they install it . My bike has been in the shop for almost a month.Warranty ran out on 10-20-07, It's on me from this point.Any ideal what may be the reason for the failure? If this bike is not 100 percent when and if I get it back, It wilI be up for sale. At this point, I can't trust it any further then I could push it!!!
