anyone got a 2008 and a older model?
Went to the dealer today saw the 2008, I LIKE the look. But my bike has more character
My question is regarding the fairings from the 2008. Side and rear to be precise, any idea if
they would fit an older model? They are much nicer looking than the older fairings. The
dealer took offense to me asking if I can take off the fairing and "try it on" my bike. Guess
hes not a KLR rider himself.

front brake question
Hi Matthew, by description what differs between your front brake and
the others you describe that pull back to the hand grip would be that
your brake works properly and the others that you tried either need to
have the air bled from the line or need the brake line replaced because
it is swelling when you apply the brake. With new brake fluid,a new ss
line and the brake carefully bled to eliminate all air from the system
my front brake engages with a very small amount of travel and provides
full braking with not much more travel then that, I've never really
checked it but I would suspect well less then 1/2 travel. With the
stock line it travelled considerably further by still probably no
closer then maybe an inch from the bar ( I 2 finger brake and it never
came back to the point where it bottomed out on my fingers)
Even with high friction pads, new well bled fluid in a ss line, which
is miles better then the stock system I can get as much braking as the
front brake is capable of providing using 2 fingers, so on my bike at
least you don't have to exert a lot of pressure to get all that
available. I'm not sure if you'll find a different profile lever to fit
the stock master cylinder setup to allow you to get the lever into a
more confortable position for you, but if your problem needing to apply
too much force for the amount of braking you're getting maybe your pads
are glazed and need to be replaced with a higher friction aftermaket
replacement...Have a great night ....Greg
