Actually... I LOVE the USA. All of it. Wherever you call home is best! I love PA, CA, FL, OR, WA, ME, and all points in between. I haven't been to ALL points in between but intend to try! PA is home, so of course I am going to "prefer" that. A little crowded in many places, the winters are a tad too long, but life proceeds at a nice pace here. CA, my 2nd home, is great. I love it there. Just not sure I would want to LIVE there full time. FL is fine - except during the peak of summer when you go outside and immediately begin to melt. OR, WA - not much different from PA. Mountains are bigger. Oregon: More cars on blocks than PA. (LOL - I have family there too) North: Great summers. Used to live in MI, but staying would probably have shortened my life span. Central: Long drive to the beach. ;-)

Global warming? I think the enviro nazis will have a hard time convincing anyone up here, considering we've been running close to 10 degrees below average, according to weather.com. Not to mention that I shouldn't have to be worried about plowing in April. After I've already been out riding my bike. Jim

Tough times in San Diego this afternoon. Overcast and low '60's

Makes ya wonder sometimes when the enviro nazi's get ranting and raving about global warming, just read that Mars also has a warming trend not much different than our own. Maybe the sun is just getting a bit hotter ? Maybe its just a cycle that the planet is going through ? Not like a few hundred years at best can be used to compare to millions of years of history and changing climates. Got the snow blower on standby still, and still waiting for all this warming to happen. Dooden A15 Green Ape

Wow. Enviro Nazi's. That is some pretty strong terminology and incredibly offensive as well. Just because a minority people don't happen to agree with the actual research that demonstrates there is a 90% likelihood humans have had a major influence on this warming trend doesn't mean the use of "Nazi" is appropriate. Agree or disagree. I don't appreciate being called a Nazi simply because I bothered to read the reports that came out of the U.N. and Bush's EPA.

Remember, we nazis almost won the last time and we are looking for these GreenApe people.... But, seriously, each year has been warmer than the rest for the last few decades, global Carbon Dioxide - the primary greenhouse gas - is on a steady increase(as being monitored in Hawaii) - ice cores dating back 100,000 years indicate that this is an unprecedented increase in global warming as recorded, and sea levels are rising worldwide. Data on glacier melting is showing receding at just mind boggling rates although ice caps like Antarctica's or Greenland's only appear to be melting. Those ice caps are vast and thick and hence react more ponderously to a trifling thing like air temperature. Spring seems too late in Edmonton too, but though I was a skeptic 10 years ago - the data around now on climatic change is pretty solid. Motorcycles - the environmentally friendly ride. Personally I'm gonna let the scientists tell me about that shit, not some dumbass politicians who wouldn't know a muon from freon. I don't go into the operating room and tell a surgeon how to do brain surgery, and I don't go into climate scientists' labs and tell them how to do climate science with their big ole' supercomputers and stuff. As far as I'm concerned, what the climate scientists say goes, and other than a few who are in the pay of oil companies, what they all say is pretty dadburned consistent. That's good 'nuff for me. If I ain't got a degree in that climate science crap, I don't know enough shit to take a dump in the woods when it comes to global warming -- and the same applies to anybody else blathering on about the subject. Let the scientists do science -- and let us ride our KLR's while they do their jobs, 'cause riding our KLR's is what this list is all about. 'Nuff said. -E

There's a big difference between collection and analysis of empirical data and political translation of partial/selected data to support a particular agenda....

Ahh, you didn't quite reveal your own beliefs with that statement! It could apply to either side of the current worldwide debate. I am also reluctant to offer my own opinions (and I certainly DO have them!), especially on this list, because we all pretty much get along well. Other lists that I am on have ended up with name calling before the moderators killed it - which I am sure Fred will do, if we get down to that level.
