Has anybody used the stainless offered by KLR650?
http://www.klr650.com/Steel%20Oil%20Filter.htm
Also, it SHOULD fit the 1993 model, but it's only listed for the 95-07
models. At 70 bucks, is it really worth it?

Check out this site.
http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Filters.html#OilFilters
Somewhere in the middle the author states that stainless steel filters are
inadequate for 3 reasons; 1; 35 microns is just not fine enough, 2; there is
nowhere near thte surface area of a good paper filter and 3;you can't relly
find a good way to clean it.

Think the consensus is they are great if you are traveling a lot and
need to do frequent oil changes without the hassle of carrying
filters, etc. But I've seen several people state that the filtration
level isn't as good as a paper filter.
You also have to factor in the cleanup vs. just popping in a fresh
paper one and tossing the old... And you can buy a lot of paper
filters for $70...

klr 650 "c" model - will the fairling and tank fit on the "model" w
I was thinking about putting about putting a "c" model fairing and
tank on my bike - I didn't know if they'd fit, and if so, what mods
would be necessary (Tank looks like a bolt on...but would the fairing
bracket be the same or not?) If anybody has tried, I'd like to hear
about - of If you have a "C" model and can show a few photos, that
would be great. Thanks in advance!

If it had better filtration, better flow, or anything that made it desireable over paper, then I can justify the cost. Especially if I can re-use it. But, the filter doesn't boast any of these qualities.
