noise after oil change????

Hendi, You need to describe the noise but I think it's safe to say it had nothing to do with the oil change, unless there is more to the story. How much new oil did you put in? Regading the sight glass, you will not see any oil with the engine running. Only after stopping the engine, letting it sit for a bit then holding the bike in the upright postion will you be able to determine the oil level. The level should be above the line and IMHO just above the top of the sight glass. Keep us posted. --Jim A-15

Hi Hendi, It is all magic. That oil that you cannot see is on vacation, or at a party discussing what is the best oilchange interval, and when you turn off the engine, it comes running back home. You see, it is lonely and does not want you to know that it is out running around on you! Sure enough, about 5 minutes after you turn off the engine, it is like a teenager in its own bed when mom and dad come back to check on them. Take a look at your manual. It describes the oil-level check with the bike standing vertcial, inferred that the bike is not running. Just for grins and giggles, hold the bike level, start the engine and watch the oil, 'go on vacation', mostly to the top of your engine head, and this, Is A Good Thing! Scary thing the first time you see it. ust wait till you start riding at night...the KLR ridden at night makes all kinds of noise that you did not hear during the day time. Commonly known as "night-noises" in the avaiation industry. One shop signage stated, "Night noises fixed here, day or night." Enjoy the ride. revmaaatin.
