David, Your last comment set me off crooked a bit so I'm gonna address it and get straight again. The operations in Iraq and other AORs aren't an adventure in the sense that sane people want to experience them. Military operations are often unpleasant and dangerous and cost our men and women dearly. I am offended when I hear people downplaying the dangers, required sacrifices and significance of our military and the operations they are told to preform. They are a tool of our country and voluntarily preform for our benefit. On a lighter note, last summer I talked with a locally based Air Force OSI (Office of Special Investigations) agent about KLRs. He did a couple of trips in Iraq and told me he used the Marine KLR for transportation on some operations. I asked about the riding conditions and bike performance. He said he was riding into the desert about 30 miles on the bike, doing his business, and then returning. The bike ran well but he couldn't tell anything exceptional about it. The part that sucked was getting shot at.
