2-up riding
Hello,
Im new to Dual Sport riding and my wife and I are going to take a nice trip down to the Copper Canyon in Sept. My question is, What is the Happy Trails Relocator plate ?, and will it help with riding 2-up ?
Thanks.

2-up riding
Chuck:
I assume you are riding a KLR. If so, you will
enjoy it very much riding single. Two up is not much
fun, but the plate you are referring to will help
considerably if you must ride two up. It a is a metal
plate that is used to move your top box more to the
rear of your bike to accomodate a passenger.
Many KLR riders have made the trip to Copper
Canyon. I've been down that way twice on a KLR. The
terrain is very unforgiving in many places. Riding
two up on a KLR would be very difficult unless they
have improved the mountainous dirt roads recently. If
you hit some bad weather (rain or snow) you will
probably not make it two up. JMHO
I wrote a trip report on my first adventure
down there. It is posted on the IBMWR web site and on
the BMW Riders of Mississippi web site.
You can access the BMW Riders of Mississippi
web site at: http://www.bmwridersofmississippi.org
Look on the "Adventures" page for "A Mexican
Adventure" It is a long article, but you will find it
very informative with my brand of sick humor.
