A couple weeks ago I think I saw someone post a web address to go to
to report a broken doohickey. If I wasn't dreaming this could someone
please re-post it for me. I have tried to find it in the archives but
after reading a hundred or so posts on doohickeys I am thinking I was
dreaming when I saw it. Thanks.

The expensive part was that I did not know what had happened... My first
thought was that I had eaten a valve.... removed the head - nothing. So
next thought was the crankshaft... some more taking apart. Once I figured
out what had happened I had the engine mostly apart. Also since the spring
was in little pieces, I took the engine to a mechanic to see what other
damage there may have been. Also, I am going to have the mechanic put it
back together (I could do it, but have not done that sort of thing for a
long time so...). So my labor cost is high.

Sunday, Day 3: Southwest to El Arco, and then onto 1 again. Maybe take the
nasty rough road south of El Arco instead of the one that comes out near
Vizcaino. Stay at San Ignacio? Maybe keep going and hit Mulage? Mileage? Who
knows?
Mike,
You probably already know about this one but just in case, there is a road
that cuts off to the south well before El Arco and goes down to Guillermo
Prieto and then out to the hwy just north of Vizcaino that isn't on any of the
maps. It is a good road and goes within a few miles of Mission Gertrudis
which is an interesting visit. It turns south at 28degrees10.42' by 113 degrees
13.08'. This is using the NAD 27 map dictum which is what the Mexico maps
use.
