Read the description on eBay item #4525768533. Have you ever heard of this happening to anyone else? What do you think caused it?

It is the 1 in 1,000,000 bike that failed. I feel confident that KLR's are tough, durable, take me where I want to go, in for the long haul, bike. My buddies got 34K on hers and still runs like a champ. Though it would be interesting (if it were possible) to see what actually did cause the failure. Boise, A19

If you get it you will have to let us all know what happened. I am sure all would be interested. Well the temp out side is just above freezing. I am going for a ride. Boise, A19. --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "mudslinger8883" wrote:

If the crankcase was cracked did that cause the oil to leak out, or was that crack caused by the seizure. ill bet oil starvation. No reason to think this proves a klr defect.

Cracked crankcase? Only by hitting something harder than you should have. I guess it all depends on where the crack is. On top? Bottom? Under the countershaft sprocket? The current price is worth the other parts, just finding a motor will be all you'd need. Kinda wish I was closer.

My left side crankcase was cracked in several places when my balancer chain broke. Kurt [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
