Anyone tried one of these things, and have you got it to work?: http://www.racetools.com/popper.html Looking for lightweight tools to carry on the up-coming Divide Ride, someone handed me one of these things a few weeks ago to try, and figured I'd give it a whack (a bunch of whacks, actually) today to try and take a tire off of a spare rear rim. So far, no go; the bead is just as tight as ever and hasn't budged a bit. Comments/ suggestions? Guy A16 Richmond, VA

Seems like a "C-clamp" would be easier to pack at the bottom of a tool bag, insert from the inside of the rim and twist until she goes pop. Sorry but that just looks silly to me. Dooden A15 Green Ape

That's what I thunked when the fella handed it to me - a smirk followed. 1st. try somewhat confirmed that, but then I RTFM, and tried again. Damn thing worked like a charm. Somehow, the crow tastes better everytime I try it.

I just have my two Motion Pro tire irons, the ones with the loop in one end that lets me make a t-handle, slip the one spoon between tire and rim and twist. Move and repeat. With the exception of the infamous Avon Gripster this has always worked with the need for an extra tool. Pat G'ville, Nv [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
