I can recommend Bridgestone Trailwing TW21/22s and Kenda K671s. You'll find plenty mention of both of thse if you search the newsgroup. -Lujo weave7112003 wrote:

I have used the k270's d604 and gripsetrs. I really like the gripsters. Way better that the d604 in every condition. Constanly startling myself by dragging boots on the on-off ramps of the highway. Decent in the dirt when aired down. I run them 28.5 psi cold everywhere. in florida. K270 rear good in the dirt front not much better than the gripster. K270 not good on wet road. I have had the bike come loose in dry roads front and rear on the on-off ramps of the highway. I'll be placing a order for another gripster soon.

counter sprocket instaltion help needed--thanks

Getting the counter sprocket off a KLR650 the first time is a real problem. I wound up cutting mine off with a Dremil tool, not a pretty picture. Someone reported that Kawasaki may be using Locktite for some demented reason. I suggest riding it to a shop that has an impact wrench to break it loose for the first time. Then hand tighten it to get it home again to work on it. Once past that first removal, you won't have any trouble getting it on & off.
