Hi All, I had my first ride yesterday on my just purchased '94 KLR. I mostly rode pavement but my friend Pete took me on some gravel, off road stuff. I have been strickly a cruiser rider my entire riding career but have recently been very intrigued by the dual purpose thing. I can say after putting 160 km on the KLR yesterday, I am definitely hooked and look forward to many enjoyable rides on that bike. After our ride yesterday, Pete and I pulled up the garage and we could both smell gas from my bike. The overflow from the carb was leaking gas. We were a little disappointed, but tonight we'll take off the gas tank and see what the problem is. It will be my first lesson on KLR repair and I'm looking forward to that too. Ride Safe Cindy

Wonder if they were round to begin with or just rolled up that way? George Escondido, CA bigfatgreenbike@... wrote:

Finishing nail in the tread area, but I wasn't using Slime because of the awful mess last time (when it didn't seal). > >I heard something rattling around INSIDE the tube when I was replacing it, so rather than patch it I cut it open to see what was inside. > >http://216.173.6.149/little_balls.jpg > >This was one of the monster tubes from Dual-Star, which had been used without incident for 10,000mi or so, including lots of low-pressure offroad use and high temp highway riding. Except for the nail hole, it was still in excellent condition. I ordered more of the same tubes today, pretty happy with them. These are the ones marked 18", made by Bridgestone and about 4mm thick. > >Anyone ever seen something like this? > >Devon > > >
