surprised at klrs off road ability
If you rode with my XR buddy's and myself on a KLR, in about two minutes,
we would either be specks of dust in front of you, or you would be flat on
the ground. I own both bikes, and I know both of their capabilities well.
Let's not get ridiculous overstating the KLR's dirt capabilities.

Sounds like the ride I had on Saturday. I rode at Rock Creek, outside of Georgetown, CA. This is about an hour away from my house so I rode my trusty green machine there. I met up with a brother and friend who were both riding XR650R's. What a fun day - 95% of the ride was on technical single track trails. This ride gave me a new appreciation for the TKC80's that I'm running. They worked BEAUTIFULLY! The funny thing about this ride is that I was leading the three of us all day and I didn't go down one time. My brother went down big time once (and hurt his hand) and our friend went down a "few" times. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, both my brother and our friend had to truck their bikes to our riding spot. I even rode my bike home when we were all done. A great day! -cm p.s. - I'm definitely looking at getting some Progressive fork springs. I bottom out the front on any slightly significant jump.
