amateur mechanic strikes again !

Remember I told you guys that my fan did not start automatically?? Well, I got tired of trying to fix it myself, so I took my bike to the dealer. Three hours after I left the dealer, they called me and told me the reason the fan was not working properly was because there was not enough cooling liquid in the radiator.... Vedy intedestine, since the fan switch is at the bottom of the radiator. Does this mean it was virtually empty. Was there coolant in the reservoir window? Didn't the temp gauge read hot. Small inquiring minds want to know. Rod

The radiator was not completely empty, I put a little coolant there. The reservoir was full. When the temp gauge red hot, I turned the bike off and took it to the dealer. You should check and make sure that the nipple on the bottom of the radiator overflow bottle hasn't melted shut. This has happened to a couple of people and would be reason for the overflow bottle being full while your radiator was less so... Z DC A5X A12X

nah .. I think that you should just not try to insert them too deep like I did! I guess that people have been using these for years so they don't come out on the trail and just stick out a bit.
