klr/klx chain guide

The guy at my local parts house warned me that no chain breaker would deal reliably with a modern chain. One use, max was all I could expect. The Dremel is a necessity.

Just guessing your talking about breaking a chain here, funny all I have ever done was use a bench grinder to remove rivet head and a punch to whack the little sucker out. Then come the mighty and trusty clip master link snapped on to hold it all together. Dooden

Dan- Good to see you back on the list, what happened to you KLR600? As for chain guards, I'd visit my nearest K dealer and look at the KLX300's to see if they have the same mounting boss that you KLX650 has for a chain guard. As for disc guards, I think for the KLX you're going to have to use a weld-on sharkfin. I've never seen a front disc sharkfin setup, be interested in seeing one, got a link? Z DC A2 A5X A11

I thought that grinding off the end of the pin before pressing it out was standard procedure....
