torque values for oil filter cover

Hi I am looking for Torque values for the oil filter cover bolts ... Now I have my Sturtevant Richmont Torque wrench I am exploring my anally retentive side. I went with the 5m thread dia values ... something like 4.8Nm Sound Good ? Barnaby

I haven't yet gone metric for torque. I think 8 or 10 ft/lbs is enough, you're better off using loctite and less torque if you're worried. Or, drill the bolt heads and safety wire them. Devon Barnaby Robson wrote:

No, it wasn't you. I guess the "loctite and less torque" was the best bit of my advice. I have used 8 ft/lbs on the case bolts, but usually I just do "tight enough". Devon KLXRIDER@... wrote:
