jennifer, for noobies

Post by vfr523 » Thu Oct 31, 2002 12:26 pm

Okay, I'm sure there are some other noobies out there who are wondering what the hell this fuss over 'Jennifer' is. Do an archive search for 'Jennifer' or 'jenJBphun'. You owe it to yourself :-) Don't be discouraged if you don't get any hits right away. Most of the activity was late '00 and early '01. Essentially, she was the girl of your dreams. Kind of the dualsport equivalent of my Swiss/extremeskier/model/masseuse fantasy of my youth (since replaced by my lovely wife, of course :-). Her posts were (eventually) signed: -Your Long-Legged Model Flight Attendent Slippery-Seated Hotly Righteous Jennifer For a quick synopsis, go to message # 49231 For some encouragement from a fellow female lister, see #14666 For Jenn throwing down the gauntlet, see #14691 For news of her untimely demise, see #23616 And once you've become sufficiently smitten, see #23674. Save this one for last. Trust me. Quite an interesting phenemenon. Nate in N.E.

Hey! I'm a noobie around here (maybe two months?). I had my interest piqued by this whole thing (yea, thus the point of the exercise in the first place), and it's a slow day at work so I decided to check the archives and see what the fuss was about. Very interesting. I have to say, I wish that I had thought of this during college when I was doing my senior research project. Kudos to Fireball. While I was in the archives, I figured I'd jot down some of the message numbers to help out those noobies who don't have as much -- ah, shall we say 'leisure' -- time at work ;-) I'd like to think that I'm man enough to admit, that had I been on the list during Jennifer's reign, Fireball would likely have had to perform gastric surgery on me if he ever wanted to retrieve his fishing tackle ;-P Talk about_wanting_to believe in something. I'll return to my state of blissful ignorance (delusion) now. Nate in N.E. (nervously awaiting the arrival of my babyK this weekend!!)
