FOR SALE: 1982 FORD E250 VAN 4X4 cab & chassis only. All you needs is a decent Ford van body, and you can have a heavy duty 4X4 van. All mechanical work professionally done, on road as 4X4 since 1982 until the back half of the body rotted off. Originally a deluxe 11 passenger window van, built for hauling tourists up a mountain to the Glacier and back. only 142,000 Km, very good mechanical condition except for an oil leak at valve covers or valley cover, and needs new exhaust system soon. Front axle is Ford Twin Traction Beam Independent Front Suspension with coils ... rides VERY nicely, and doesn't require massive lifting like a solid axle. Heavy duty suspension with overloads at back, rides nice empty or full. 460 Motor, very strong, leaks a bit of oil. 3 Speed auto trans with 2 spd Transfer case, locking front hubs. 285/75 R 16" BFG Mud Terrain tires and NEW white spoke rims. Cut off the back half of the body to make it into a 4X4 motor home, and there it sits - cab, chassis, all running gear, two gas tanks. Ready for a new body or ...??
