re; carb tuning

I have a '98 KLR-650. When I bought it, the previous owner had installed a Cobra Muffler, but not complete exhaust. He also installed a Uni-filter and a 152 main jet. All other jets appear to be stock, except I turned the pilot screw out three turns. I had already installed two M5 washers under the needle, but today I took Murf's advice and installed three while also drilling the slide hole to 1/8". Also my Cobra was rattleing, so I took it apart and fixed the rattle, but also drilled four 1/2" hole in the plate on the partof the pipe that hooks to the header pipe. I've only had a short test ride but the results have been amazing. Power wheelies are much easier, and exceleration seems much crisper. By the way I live in Northeast OK, and I believe the elevation is between 800 and 900 feet above sea level. Good Luck and hope this helps. Dave --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Dunno about that one, but the orange long-life Prestone protects to some insanely cold temperature. And distilled water can usually be found at grocery stores.... -Lujo

Offers protection to -52C ( -60F). A little pricey at $4.99 > CDN per litre but convenient. > Anyone out there ever try this stuff? > Steve > A11
