Karl and I spent almost 8 hours on the stock KLR seats on Sunday. It was only about 300mi, but 80 of it was offroad. Devon imperial-4776@... wrote:

This past four days I rode my KLR (stock seat, sheepskin on top, highway pegs) 600 miles on Thursday, 100 of Friday, and 500 on Sunday. I'm ready to hit it again. The sheepskin and the highway pegs made it all work. Actually, I added a strange seat-cover from Wall Mart that has these one-inch diameter bumps on it, and it made the last day even better. I had a dished Corbin (original design) on my previous KLR, and my current setup is just as good. Russell or Mayer this winter, but I have another couple thousand planned in the next month or so, and I'm in no hurry to change the seat. Ron Crandell St. Cloud, MN

I don't think so. I just did Portland, OR to San Jose, CA in 12 hours on my A14 with stock seat. The distance was 735 miles by the route I took. I do Sequim, WA to San Jose twice a year, usually in one day ... I don't really WANT to know how far that is! Ed A14 45k miles and still tickin'!

I beat my own record this year with a run of 695 miles in 14 hours, but that was on a seat by Sport Tour. Boy, you blew those records out of the water!!! Steve A11

Dear Mr Brooklyn Bum, You did that in 22 consecutive hours ? NON STOP, except for gas stops, using the powder room, and food of course. Very impressive. Dave

I used to do almost annual treks of about 900km each way, and one year a couple of extra ~1500km days, but I was younger then and so was the bike. Mister_T Melbourne Australia
