Right in your back yard is Dual Star. They have the surplus seat covers for like $15. -----Original Message----- From: chknbone@... I ride a '00 KLR 650 with a stock seat on it. Anyone have any suggestions as to a good repair? I'll gladly trade looks for durability. I live in Seattle so I don't have too much time before I'm forced duct tape it because of a rainy day, which I don't wanna do unless I have to. Kevin Midkiff Y2KLR 650 A14 Seattle, WA. Add me to the list. Sold my '96 R1100RS and wanted a 650GS, despite the fact that the nearest dealer for BMW's is 350km away. Fortunately BMW was sold out here in Canada and I had a severe attack of common sense....... Spotted a '99 for sale in the 'Buy and Sell' for $5000CDN with 5300kms on it and within a week the deed was done, June 1. Since then I have covered nearly 8,000km and started putting add-ons on, including a lowering kit, Scott oiler and flush mount turn signals.... (just cos, OK!) One of Arne's racks is on order and some steel brake lines. Because the bike was so inexpensive I have no qualms about throwing money at it to really personalise it. I have never had so much FUN with any bike (in 28 years of riding) and its versatility never ceases to amaze me. I will probably do less than 5% of my mileage (kilometrage?) off paved roads (and that will be only gravel/hard pack) but the bike is proving a superb road traveller. I had hard luggage on the BMW and will follow suit with Givis. And best of all, ownership has brought access to all of you interesting guys and gals out there in KLR list-land. Safe riding. Nick.
