good price on dual star center stand/lowering links?

Post by jpainter@ieee.org » Wed Jul 05, 2000 1:21 pm

I have been on the dual star web page and looking at the retail prices on the center stands and lowering links. They seem very high to me. $105 for the lowering links and $65 for the short kick stand, and $160 for the center stand?! Thats $330 for the upgrade. Please someone tell me you can get these things someplace cheaper! Justin Painter A4

countershaft sprockets

Post by Dennis Angus » Wed Jul 05, 2000 5:19 pm

Listers While sprockets are being discussed I was just wondering if anyone had ever lost one under power? It happened to me years ago on my H-2 at about 115 mph shifting from 4th to 5th. Felt like the clutch was gone. I had just changed the countershaft sprocket to help keep the front end down. Didn't tighten the nut super tight and I used the same washer. Bad plan. Anyway, I coasted down to about 15 mph and the rear tire locked. It was the chain balled up on the loose countershaft sprocket that locked it up. To this day I wonder what would have happened if the ball game had of started at 115. Sorry to interrupt the removal thread. Back to the regularly scheduled program. DAngus A-11
