[dsn_klr650] bruning oil

Post by Toby Lampson » Sun Jun 18, 2000 2:45 pm

Karl, I wouldn't think so. I do know that I went to Penzoil for 3k after Mobil 1 and noticed the same symptom. I've since returned to Mobil 1, and still have the soot. Using about 6 oz. to 3k now. However, this may not have as much to do with switching oils as it does religious maintenance of the air filter. Allowing 'any' dirt to get to those rings will wear them fast. So, now I'm doing air filter cleaning often, and have purchased some filter socks from Fred for their added bennies. G'luck Slide Karl Raupp wrote:

[dsn_klr650] brake fluid leaking

Are we talking front or rear reservoir here? Wasn't the sight glass adequate for inspection? Is it overfull? DO NOT PUT GASKETSEALER ON IT! or you run the risk of locking the system up. Dot 3 or 4 brake fluid is ok...it should not consume fluid normally, if it is low at the sight glass you have a leak or the pads are worn thin. If this is an area of the bike you don't feel comfortable with I would not encourage you to mess with it. It is one thing to go and another to wo. Morgan
