creep

Post by Glenn » Thu Jun 08, 2000 1:52 pm

I have had this feeling that my A14 is creeping when I put it into gear. I verified this by leveraging the rear wheel of off the ground via the side stand and putting the bike in 1st gear with the clutch lever pulled all the way to the bar. The bike wheel spins. Not just a slow rotation but at a fairly good speed. If I am stopped it doesn't move the bike so it's not that fast. I tried it in 2nd and got the same results (of course the wheel spun faster). I tried adjusting the clutch at the lever but it still does it. Is this normal for a KLR or should I try adjusting the cable down at the crankcase? I don't remember my other bikes ever doing this, the wheel may have slowly rotated around but not like the KLR does. I had my A14 in for it's initial service about a week and a half ago. It now has 900 miles on it. Could it be the oil the dealer put in? Not sure what weight they used. Thanks. Glenn __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
