I for one will not be able to attend Moab this year and will not be able to
meet all of the KLR characters. I imagine there are many like me.
Every post on the net elicits an image of a KLR with a faceless rider. I do
place a face but it changes with each post!
My suggestion; Why not have a KLR registration with a photo. This displayed
somewhere in the KLR archives. A registration number (sans photo) could be
placed on the windscreen or faring. This all serving two purposes; 1) upon
seeing a local bike one would know it belongs to a list member(possible ride
mate). 2) One could put a face to email.
Personally I have no problem with the above. Are there any objections that I
am not thinking of?
The first thing everyone is thinking.... You(me) organize it. I am computer
illiterate and have no idea how to do this.
Is there any interest in a photo registration?

klr 650 $3995 in salt lake?
I'm a Vespa nut myself. I have 3 of them right now and looking for more!
$2000 for a good condition, good running Vespa is not a lot of money. Even
a common 90cc model will set you back about $1200-1500 if it's relatively
decent. Having said that, you gotta see what they sell for over on the west
coast. Or just search under Vespa on Ebay. Ka-CHING!!!
It's hard to rationalize since we KLR riders are just so damned practical,
but riding a Vespa or Lambretta scooter isn't becuase one needs basic
transportion. It's a lifestyle choice to many, a fashion statement to some,
and it's what the VW Beetle was in the 60's - a statement that the owner is
anti-state.
Regardless, have a close look at one oneday. Spare tire on rim. 3 or 4
speed manual transmission operated completely by hand controls. Single
sided swingarm/fork. Direct gear drive to rear wheel. Super simple 2
stroke. Etc... Neat machines.
