TC Shock Rebuilding

From time to time, individuals have mentioned suppliers that have done a good
job or offer hard to find items. I especially remember the articles on who
sells the correct tire tubes and the articles on Redline oil. I have found
this information very helpful.
I had an excellent experience having my shocks rebuilt by Peter Caldwell of
World Wide Auto Parts in Madison Wisconsin. Peter refurbishes or replaces
all the valving and pistons. The bodies are machined to take two back to back
rotary seals. The shocks are cleaned, beadblasted and painted. Peter gives an
unconditional guarantee - his rebuilt shocks won't leak! Rebuilding costs $65
per shock.
Peter will also install the links and bushings for $13.75 per bushing. I
would highly recommend having Peter install the bushings and links. (I just
about broke my drill press and my arm trying to install them myself.)
Peter also keeps you informed (by E-mail) of his progress, telling you when
the shocks were finished and shipped - A nice touch!
