Spark Plug

In regard to the spark plug question, I posed that question to another
group and NGK was by far the winner. I am running the NGK UR5. It seems
to do well with the Southern California fuel we get that is of course
unleaded but also oxygenated unfortunately. Have many thousands of miles
on the engine using lowest octane (and cheapest) fuel available, in the 87
octane neighborhood if I remember right (don't pay attention anymore).
Running a pretty much stock engine except for the 3/4 cam and slightly
larger valves.

In answer to lubing the valves with additives, I built the engine before
stellite exaust valves were available and have had no valve problems and
have never used fuel additives.

Spark Plug Anyone know the Bosch spark plug number for the Bosch Platinum+4 Spark Plugs for a TC XPAG engine?
Can’t find a cross reference to NGK B7HS which is what I’ve been using. Tom Wilson

Hi Tom Wilson, One of my friends recommended to use BPR6HIX, instead of BP6HS.B = 14 mm Thread sizeP =  Projected insulated typeR =  with resistor6  =  Heat range ( unlike others  NGK they use smaller number for higher rate )
H =  half an inch or 12.7 mm Thread reachIX = Iridium ( S = Copper core center electrode )There is a catalogue of NGK spark plug is available with all production and delivery details. Last year I bought four NGK plugs, two were made in France and the other two made in Japan. I am afraid there may be quality difference, just like high end sound amplifier or cameras, they are made in Japan, low end are made in other countries.Just some thoughts !!!

Hi
I believe that BP6HS is the conversion of the old Champion L10 not the L10S for XPAG engines .
I use them in my '38 MGVA.

4214, otherwise known as WR8AP.1/2 inch reach. I think the new stocking part number is 4014
