For what it's worth, as a new member I appreciate the gentleman's response that I've attached below. What may not be realized by some of the others, is that we are not all so fortunate to have a complete, operational TC.

Some of us, myself included, are fortunate in that we do have something to restore, no matter how many pieces and boxes it came in. And we want to put it back together in the best way so that we can use it and be satisfied with our efforts
.
And so while it may seem that the questions that are being put forth to the "group" are endless drivel, remember that while it is old news to you, it is new to us. Not everything can be found in the reference material and so we look to you that have had the experience with the cars for advice.

At some point, we will be in your place, having done it, lived it, and hopefully given back something of value to others. I look forward to the day that I can even sit in my TC let alone drive the contraption!
No response necessary!

In the good old days of the last century, one of my pleasures on
this list was to be able to do a bit of stirring to make thing more
interesting and to get my friends going.

I stopped doing it because certain individuals who claim to be
superior TABC experts and who have to continually boast about
driving their cars regularly, started to take offence. Most of us use
our cars plenty but we don't brag. This is what we have them for.

These self same individuals are now trying to take the mickey out
of others who are asking what many of us consider to be
interesting and useful questions, simple and mildly irrelevant
though they may be. Their humour is snide and lacks subtlety

If am about to paint my engine block and accessories, as I did 3
weeks ago, I might as well paint them the "correct" colour. It's no
more difficult than painting them the wrong colour. I might even
decide to paint them some other colour but at least I have had the
choice. Maybe I'm strange but if it's possible to establish these
things, why should we not not do this without Geoff's requirement
of going to war? Of course, Mr Badger's well used TC, if it can still
be recognized as such because of his well advertised scant regard
for detail, is probably so full of road dirt that we can't see the nipple
pink scuttle, orange fan blades and flames down the sides. By the
way, what colour should the fan blades be?

Its the details and the people that make this whole thing fun. Why
else would anyone drive an engineering monstrosity like a TC? We
are simple folk. Lets stay this way!
