Hi Nicola, before you decide on a colour, you may wish to try to determine
your original J2 car colour. Look on the inside of the bonnet center hinge
and see if the serial number of your car and a colour are shown. My
J2-3017 shows "3017 BLK". The car is now painted black. Interior of
J-3017 was a deep maroon red.
I believe the bonnets were individually fitted to the cars before painting,
then marked with chassis number and final colour, separated and painted,
then the correct painted bonnet could be re-fitted to the car during final
assembly.

Hi Nicola

Attached is an article copied from a magazine some years ago(I regret I
cannot give them credit...no name on any of the pages) setting out all the
colour combinations available on MG's 1933-53.
Let me know if it arrives legible...otherwise I can post it to you.
