Car Show
Hi guys (and gals!),
I know that many of you plan the car show dates ahead like I do, so I
thought a little advance
note would be in order.
On the weekend of April 26-27 2003, our sports car club is running a car
show - Kars4Kids.
Held on the rolling grassy (with shade trees!) acreage of the TN Children's
Home (which it will benefit), we had around 200 cars last year....of which
THREE were T series or earlier MG's. Six MGA's made the
trip....! And a billion B's!
Our major sponsor is the Marriott Courtyard Hotel, and arrangements have
been made to block some rooms for entrants at a reduced price. Tami Guin of
Courtyard Marriott 615.423.0677 is our host hotel contact for anyone coming
to the show needing a place to stay for the weekend. Ask for the Kars4Kids
special rate. If we get a significant number of folks in the older MG's, we
will be arranging a drawing for some free rooms! (Yeah, that's a bribe!)
The venue is truly beautiful, located in the Brentwood section of town for
those familiar, and near to many other interests for you and your spouse at
night or afterwards such as the historic Franklin Main Street Festival for
those wanting to make a full weekend of it.
I would like very much have a large group of the T-series and Pre-War MG
folks come out, since the Club thinks I am the only weirdo alive actually
driving around in one of these cars....
Trophies and a multitude of door prizes (such as a set of Bridgestone
tires!) for you and the car, some of your costs may be tax deductible for
your tax man, and deserving kids get some help in preparing themselves to be
good citizens. Everyone wins.
The Brentwood Mayor, Fire Dept. & Police Dept. will be part of the event
along with various activities for children as a show of community support,
and vendors.
We are located in Nashville, Tennessee with truly beautiful countryside,
winding "B" type roads, and friendly natives! While I realize that many of
you from far away may not make it, we ARE central to just about the entire
center of the USA!
April should be a perfect month with average temps around 60 degrees F, and
usually limited rain. In short, MG weather.
Any of you who may be interested in joining us for this event, please
contact me - spook01@comcast.net or Paul Collins, Sullivan Engineering, Inc

If you wish a flyer/entry form to pass along to others who are not on the
web, let us know and it will be sent out right away.
I would like to emphasize that ALL profit from this venture goes to an
organization where approximately 92 cents of each dollar goes to the kids,
and they receive NO State or National funding.
Thanks for your time folks, and I hope to meet many of you here in the
Spring!
I know that our MG brethren in other countries can't make it, so I ask
pardon in advance for bombing the list.
Best,
Ray
