Rover & M.G. cars Have just heard on the news tonight (probably hours after everyone else) that Rover has been GIVEN AWAY by BMW!!!
The details were sketchy, but it seems as if the new Rover range might be continued for a while, then all the cars produced at Longbridge will be badged as M.G.s - Bill Morris and Leonard Lord must be turning in their graves tonight.
One mystery concerns the "rescue package" which our Government agreed last year with BMW to safeguard the jobs of the Longbridge workers - it was for 152 million pounds, or 251 in reverse. Who was it who said that fact is stranger than fiction?
The other news is that Moss (USA) seems to be the front-runner in the race to buy up Moss (UK) - anybody else know the facts there? The new Octagon Bulletin just arrived and so far I have not noticed any mention of the Moss problems at all!
