Thank you for your advice. I've relayed your info and concerns to the
widow, Joy Matusek. She claims that when it was delivered three months ago
on a trailer (about three years later than promised) that the restorer
demonstrated how easily it starts. She has not driven it yet. We'll make
certain a vertical float bowl is sourced somehow and that a RA needle is
installed. I'll go back and make certain the overflow is safely routed, and
the replacement float bowl does not have a "float tickler". I'm also about
to buy a pyrometer gun with which to read temperatures. Thought this might
be useful for tuning my multiple carb cars and who knows it might also be
useful for checking the mixture on Joy's XPAG.
