It is fairly safe to assume that bulkheads varied in colour, whether due to
"war surplus" paint or not.

On TC0978 I took off the little triangular control wire box, and found some
original paint under there (the top was silver over black!!!). Since I had
the bulkhead sandblasted and powder coated by the same firm, I simply gave
them the sample to match up.

Most so-called "original paint bulkheads" have in fact gone yellowish over
the years from exposure to warm XPAG oil mist!
