tools

Post by Victoria » Mon Jan 31, 2000 12:16 pm

Hello out there,
does anyone know what the toolkit actually comprises?
The brown book and spares catalogue differ, although the latter shows a TA
type taillight so maybe that is no real guide.
I am busy collecting what I can and find local car boot sales a meagre
source, although I was able to pick up the cylinder head spanner and
recently bought a Jaguar MkII
toolbox which has the Lockheed bleed tube tin. Whilst in England I found a
foot pump so things are progressing.
Pictures of the open ended spanners are unclear and I wonder if they are
the crude stampings one acquired with a MGA for example or were they a
better standard and if so what?
regards
Clem

There is very little that has not been described somewhere...in this case
T.S.O. August 1992 pp.14-21 has an excellent article by Rob Nortier.

Was told about an interesting site last night that may be of interest
to us. Sells and rents a great variety of tools for our British cars
including some special service tools.

http://www.britishtool.com

Another excellent site is one from the MG TC Register of Victoria,
Australia. Very nice and they are working on including all known TCs
for a world wide register. They have been in contact with Walter so
eventually our list will be included, but that part is in works.
They are in the MG Links section of our T-ABC web page.

Hans If anyone did have, there would be about 1,000 people who would be lining up with you buy them. Try the following site for reproductions http://web.one.net.au/~in_point/ Mike Card

Ray, Once again you will need a TA/TB parts book. Be warned, it is HELL to find this stuff if you want it. It will take a long time if you want it right and original. We have EXACTLY what is pictured in the book but will never want to do it again. I guess one could say the same about restoring a TB though ! Cheers, John and Crystal P.S. Crystal actually used the kit as an art history ''collections'' project and it was on display at the Davis Art Museum at Wellesley College to rave reviews when she was in school. That is my ''drivel'' for the day ... now back to work !
