I have seen a liberal coating of candle wax (rubbing a candle or similar parafin wax) on a closed zipper give a fair amount of waterproofing, good enough for washing the car, for instance. As far as a downpour, the tonneau is bound to lose! Mark McCombs 49 TC EXU
