RE: Rad Shell Work and Plating
Bob,
I too had a very bad rad shell. Long ago TC 9028 had been involved in an accident - the rad shell had quite a few dents, scratches, a small hole and wear at the screw holes. One of the top corners the rad shell was crushed in slightly. I was very concerned that I would pay a plater a lot of money and get back a poor to mediocre result. I took the shell to a plater in Toronto, Ontario - The Plating House. They did a superb job. They have experience with these Rad Shells (when I originally took my shell in there was another T-Series shell on the counter that had also just been brought in.) I have since had about 20 - 24 other chrome bits plated by them including headlamp shells, spare wheel knockoff assembly and parking lamps. I have been very pleased each and every piece. The cost to do the rad shell was not cheap - approximately $650.00 U.S. but the rad shell was in extremely poor shape. The owner of The Plating House is John Kearns (416)661-3964 and his address is 116 Viceroy Rd., Building C 1 and 2, Concord, Ontario, Canada L4K 2LB.
