Battery hold downs

Post by Tom Wilson » Thu Sep 22, 2005 5:49 pm

An easy way to make a battery hold down - take 1/4" steel rod cut to length to fit, and cut threads into each end (BSF threads!).
Cut a piece of oak or maple wood - 3/4" x 1" x proper length, drill holes at each end to place rods through, then insert over battery and tighten in place.
It's not how they were new from the factory, but it will hold most any battery securely and easily.

Tom while the threads would be different you can buy battery hold down "J"
hooks at most auto parts stores it is much easier than making your own (unless
you want 1/4 BSF threads)
