When I purchased my TC it came complete with Rose joints tie rod and link -fitted by Steve Baker when the car was restored for the Monte Carlo Challenge in 1991. I overhauled the Bishop cam box some 4 years ago and I find the steering very light and precise on a run ( usual heavy at parking speeds) no wander and can be steered with one finger!! I keep the joints well greased and so far no problems

Hi Bob,If you get a lead on rose joints, let me know SVP. They seem to vary in price immensely! I have made the rods but they are a slightly heavier wall than standard so weigh a bit more as well.  Regards,Ron Benson N Yorks, where the sun is shining!

Hello to all,

I am not sure about what the term "Rose Joint" means, precisely. I am very familiar with the type of steering link joints that were original on the TC. I am also familiar with a "ball joint", as used on the Morris 10, series M. In fact, on the right-hand side of my TC, there are two of that type of joint. But what is meant by a rose joint? Heim joints, made in North America by H G. Heim, appear identical to rose joints, which seem to be named after the Rose Bearing company.

Are there significant differences in these bearings?

Rick,

Rose and Heim joints are the same.  Here is a bit of interesting history on the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_end_bearing.  There may be some manufacturing differences today.
