When I first started up my TD after a number of years stored, my tach
 needle wasn't working... I removed the bezel and glass and found
 that the little rubber rest had produced a tiny (really tiny) drop of
 (?) and the needle was stuck to it... this happened once more this
 year and i removed the rubber...
 If you didn't also have problem #5, i would suggest looking there
 first... there again, I believe your instruments and the late TD's
 are not quite the same (bet the little rubber rest is however).

 1) sometimes work just fine;
 2) sometimes stick at 0 MPH; then,
 3) suddenly start to work fine again; then,
 4) stick at 30 MPH.; and then, to really cap it all off,
 5) madly spin all the way up and over, coming down to rest at six o'clock.
