Re:
John,
The inner spring was an MG official mod to raise oil pressure for
competition work. Normally just the larger outer spring in the relief valve.
Just remove the inner spring and the oil pressure on the gauge should drop
to about 60 psi.

BlankHi T lovers,
I just pulled the plug from the oil pump to change the spring as I have
been running 90psi and
that's too high! I have not had this spring out for 45 years and to my
astonishment there were TWO
springs in the guide, an outer spring and a smaller diameter inner spring.
Are there supposed to be
two springs or just one? Any comments so I can put it back together with one
new spring to get lower
pressure.
