TB & TC originality fuel tank question.

Post by Mick Conde » Sat Aug 06, 2005 9:47 am

All knowing group - I have a fuel tank that was taken off of a TB in 1969 and replaced with a reproduction at the same time due to a leak ( my fathers TB ). The question: this tank has a brass filler neck turned at about a 30 degree angle. It was my understanding this is correct for TB and on a very limited basis (while TB tank supply lasted) was also used on very early TC's. I have tried to do the reasearch on my own but can not confirm this as a fact. Can anyone set me straight on this fact ? thanks mick Pittsburgh PA --------------------------------- Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

AW: [mg-tabc] TB & TC originality fuel tank question.

Post by Paroor » Sat Aug 06, 2005 1:38 pm

Hi Micke, Some experts told me that in my early TC 0448 there is a TB tank ? Because in the bottom there are three outlets. One is for normal connection. The second for reserve supply connection. The third is for cleaning purpose. But the fuel tank cap is fixed in the front can be opened by pressing the clip on the lid. I have no knowledge about TB. This IS very interesting, Mick! My early Home model TC has the same situationin regards to the angle of the filler. I often wondered about this and was once told that it was not correct. However, the individual who told me this was not so informed. I too am interested in the response from the members here. Kind regards, Bruce Collins TC #2721

My TC2459 has the 30 degree (or so) fuel filler cap angle. It's the only one like this that I have seen. Now we know there are atleast 3 like this. Viv
