Gearbos mounting

Post by TMcNam4510@aol.com » Sun Jul 10, 2005 6:12 pm

The adventure continues..........I have reached a turning point in the resurrection of TC 2850. I am finally done scraping, cleaning, painting and disassembling. Now I am into the re-construction phase. When I measured the frame diagonals they were within 1/8 of an inch! Now the question......I'm looking at the rear of the gearbox and can see that the mounts fit in two different ways, the right side takes 2 (12 mm?) bolts and nuts about 40 mm long and the left side takes 2 (10 mm?) bolts about 20 to 25 mm long. My problem is that, on the left side, there is a bolt head, one of the ones that secures the rear of the gearbox, right where the mount goes. What am I missing here? Does anyone have a picture of the rear of their gearbox. I know a few of you are changing to the five speed setup. Thanks, Tom TC 2850, disassembled [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
