Bishop's Cam Box.

Post by E.Worpe » Fri Jun 24, 2005 1:36 am

Hi Rick, I tried to avoid passing judgement on the Bishop's Cam steering box, other than to say it has a unique characteristic. In fact I agree that properly set up, the BC box behaves quite well. The problem comes from the many bodged rebuilds and badly set up examples. The main failing of our BC box may well be it's lack of engineering robustness, which seems to predispose it wear and now it seems fatigue failure. If you look at the BC boxes from other cars, they are quite substantial. Our BC box was a hand down from the inexpensive Morris 8, a light weight, unassuming family saloon. Regards, Eric. -----Original Message----- And what, pray tell, is wrong with the Bishop Cam steering box? -Rick, TC 7881 ------------------------------ E.Worpe@surrey.ac.uk> wrote: The Bishop's Cam steering box imparts a unique characteristic to the T-abc. Anything that does this, whether it's good or bad, seems to become sacrosanct. Regards, Eric. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
