Does anyone have an words of wisdom regarding the Moss s/s exhaust system vs the Abingdon Spares set up? I have used Moss for our TF and was satisfied. Seems to be about a $200 price difference in favor of Moss. Jim [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have installed the Moss SS exhaust and am very happy with it. Don't know about the Abingdon one. I have the Falcon SS system, and aside from a bit of tweaking where the head pipe flange bolts to the Bell housing, it fit perfectly, and sounds very nice.I did not, however, buy it from Moss, but rather from a local supplier here in Vancouver. -Rick Dave A davea@symbolicdisplays.com> wrote: Hello! I just purchased the Moss Falcon system and other than a slight difference in shape of the headpipe, Which is not noticeable unless it placed next to the rusty original. I should be installing hopefully it this weekend. The stainless tailpipe polishes up real nice! The only problem so far is trying to find the correct size 1 3/8? clamp to attach the tail pipe to the muffler.. I am looking for a stainless band type clamp so when I drive the TC in the cold snowy winters in NY I won't have to worry about rusty mufflers and clamps!! No experience with the Abingdon unit but have had the Moss unit on TC 3528 for seven Years (or more?) with no problems since installation. Of course I had the same grief as everyone bolting up the head pipe to the manifold the first time. I put on a stainless system from Abingdon..worked well. As was suggested to me I used an MGB gasket between exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe....simple bolt on doing that. Extremely easy and works well. Rob Greaves Ottawa

I had absolutely no problems bolting the Moss unit up. Maybe I missed something! Following the advice from many of you, I have installed a Moss/Falcon stainless steel exhaust system on the TC. It went on with no problems except for the bracket which bolts to the bell housing. That was about 1/2 inch too far to the rear and required some bending to fit. I must say that after several years of running my home made "low restriction" system (a cheap hot rod muffler with an inch and three quarter tail pipe) the new system sounds positively wimpy! Hi group

Some time ago during a discussion of stainless steel exhaust systems I seem to remember a lister saying that there was a company that offered both a 1 inch and 1 inch system for our cars. I have been unable to find that info in the archive. If somebody has that info I would appreciate getting it.

Related to that, is there a difference between the XPAG and XPEG stock exhaust manifolds. If so how do I tell the difference. I have an XPAG that has been built to 1466cc (XPEG) with a modified head that requires 1 ” SU carbs ( I have an XPEG 1 ” intake manifold) so if there is a difference in exhaust manifolds I will require the XPEG spec. one.

Thanks for the help and info.
